Press coverage

In April 2006, Current Anthropology issued a press release about my paper on worldwide nonpaternity rates. It generated a bit of buzz. The NY Times Magazine even included it with their "best ideas of 2006" issue! Here are some of the articles that followed the press release.

In January, 2005, the BBC1 radio programme "More or Less" presented a program on "The Paternity Myth." I was interviewed for this, but my research is referenced only obliquely, towards the end of the segment. You can listen to a stream of this program here.

In the spring of 2003, a paper I wrote with Sandy Hofferth on fathers and stepfathers in the US received some publicity. The original UMD press release that sparked these articles can be read here.

When I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan, the Institute for Social Research created press releases on several projects with which I was involved. These led to a few scattered articles in the popular press, and a couple of radio interviews. I bookmarked a number of these that were published on the web, but after a while they became dead links. Here are a few pages that I saved. I present these as items of historical interest--they have their flaws to be sure, and they do not necessarily characertize the work I'm doing now.

I also did several radio interviews on these results, but none were recorded (so far as I know).

Lastly, here's an article in Spanish that mentions my work (about halfway down the page):
