Professor Busenitz received his PhD in strategic management from Texas A & M University. He served on the faculty at the University of Houston before joining OU in the Price College of Business. He teaches entrepreneurship courses for undergraduate, masters and doctoral students. His research has appeared in the leading journals in management and entrepreneurship. He serves on the editorial review boards of some of the top management and entrepreneurship journals. In addition to his journal publications and review work, Dr. Busenitz is a frequent presenter at major conferences both in the US and internationally.
Dr. Busenitz is the co-founder of the Center for Entrepreneurship in the Price College of Business. He has been intimately involved with the development of the undergraduate entrepreneurship major and the MBA entrepreneurship concentration. He helps many teams develop viable business concepts and then write the business plans for those concepts. His student teams have competed in a variety of business plan competitions. His student teams, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, have received multiple 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards in the Oklahoma Governor’s Cup Business Plan competition.
