The following table contains the results from a comparison road test in German Car Magazine "Auto Zeitung" in June 1998, which compared the new Porsche 996 with the also new Audi S4, the BMW M3 3.2 and Mercedes-Benz AMG C43. The Porsche wins by a small margin followed by the M3. The S4 comes on third and the C43 is last on the editors list.
