RESEARCH AND TEACHING INTERESTS

 

Patricia J. Daugherty is the Siegfried Chair in Marketing and SCM. She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from Michigan State University (1988) with minors in Logistics and Advertising/Promotion. She was Michigan State's 1988 American Marketing Association Doctoral Consortium Fellow and the A.T. Kearney 1988-89 Post Doctoral Fellow.

Prior to entering academe, Dr. Daugherty worked as a buyer for A&P's National Produce Division. She has consulted with a number of firms including Baxter Healthcare, Digital Equipment Corporation, The Gillette Company, Nabisco Foods, Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Ralston Purina Company, and United Parcel Service.

Dr. Daugherty's primary research interests include logistical trends, customer service/satisfaction, and strategic alliances. She has published in a number of academic journals including International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Promotion Management, and The Logistics and Transportation Review and has co-authored two books, Leading Edge Logistics:   Competitive Positioning for the 1990s and Logistical Excellence: It's Not Business as Usual.

Dr. Daugherty is a member of the Academy of Marketing Science and the Council of Logistics Management.
