The LAW
Page

I am going to start putting together a page for legal support.  I have found that families do not know what their legal rights are and the schools do not know their legal responsibilities are.  That is, we are all in the dark.  I would like this section to have two main parts.  The first part will take your (you the reader) help.  The first will be a list of lawyers in YOUR STATE and AREA who have represented students and families in handicap cases or are willing to take that on.  Second, I am planning to include ‘in as close to plane English as I can’ what the laws are for your state and the nation regarding special education.

So what can you do?

Take a few minutes and look in your phone book and see if there are any lawyers who might fit the bill and give them a call.  Ask if they understand the law regarding disabled students and the Americans with disabilities act.  If they do, ask them if they would be interested in taking on the school system to get the school systems to adhere to these laws.  If they are ok with this then give them my email or better yet give them a copy of this section of my web page and let them contact me.

I really will not be able to give this my full attention until later this summer but I want to start collecting names and firms now.

I'm going to just start listing links as they are sent to me.
