| Dr. Kevin Grier earned his Ph.D. from Washington University in St.
Louis in 1984. He was an assistant, then associate professor of economics
at George Mason University from 1985 - 1993, visiting assistant professor
at CALTECH in 1987-88, professor of economics and political economy at Tulane
University 1994-1997, and professor of economics at CIDE in Mexico City
from 1997 - 1999. He is currently professor of Economics and International
Academic Programs at the University of Oklahoma. |
| Professor Grier's research has appeared in such journals as the
Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal
of Finance, Journal of International Money & Finance, Journal of Law
& Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Economic Inquiry, American Political Science Review and
the American Journal of Political Science. Kevin Grier is listed in the top 1000 economists (#593) by publications from 1990 - 2000. Professor Grier is also included in Who's Who in Economics , (4th Edition, 2003) edited by Mark Blaug and published by Edward Elgar Press, which compiles information on "the 1,200 most frequently cited economists, in the years 1990-2000 using the Social Science Citation Index." Professor Grier was Co-Editor of the Southern Economic Journal from 1997 - 2002 and is currently a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Public Choice . His fields of specialization and teaching are monetary economics, econometrics and political economy. |
| Professor Grier is fluent in Spanish and enjoys reading, alternative music (played on a tube hi fi system), golf, tennis, and traveling. He lives in Norman with his wife, Professor Robin Grier and their dog Pluto . |
