The Lions of Mala Mala

We spent three days at Mala-Mala, a private reserve that shares an
open border with Kruger National Park. We went there because it
is known for frequent leopard sightings (more on that later) but there are also
three different lion prides (of which we saw two) whose territory is partly in
the reserve. These predators pay absolutely no attention to the humans in the
land rover. They just go about their business. The photo above is a mature male
lounging in the late afternoon sun
