We took a helicopter
ride on the Big Island and got great
overhead views of the Pu'u O'o vent, which has been
active since the 1980s.


We also hiked in Volcano National Park, which is an
incredible place.
Lava from the Pu'u O'o vent is always flowing, but sometimes it's underground
and not visible. We were lucky that the lava was above ground while
we were visiting. The rangers are the coolest park rangers I've met
yet; they let you hike right out to the flowing lava.
