Kachemak Bay, June 2001


  We began our trip in Homer, a funky little town whose best point is the scenery
(and its bread and expresso)

       The first day of our trip we took a water taxi  to Kachemak Bay State Park, hiked up to
  Grewingk Glacier and kayaked around the icebergs in Grewingk Glacier Lake

       We rested and ate lunch next to the glacier





  otter
       A lone, but curious, male otter in the bay







   pup
       Near 60-foot rock, also in Kachemak bay we found a group of mother otters with their pups





   eagle
       There are also lots of bald eagles in the area
