Kachemak Bay, June 2001
We began our trip in Homer, a funky little town whose best point
is the scenery
(and its bread and expresso)

A view of Kachemak Bay from the Homer Spit
The first day of
our trip we took a water taxi to Kachemak Bay State Park, hiked up
to
Grewingk Glacier and kayaked around the icebergs in Grewingk Glacier
Lake
We rested and ate
lunch next to the glacier
A lone, but curious,
male otter in the bay
Near 60-foot rock,
also in Kachemak
bay we found a group of mother otters with their pups

There are also lots of bald eagles in the area
