Seward Area
We stayed at Lowell Point, about 3 miles south of the tourist trap that
is Seward. Wherever you stay, Resurrection Bay and the Harding icefield are
fantastic. There is a lot of wildlife and many glaciers there for the seeing.
We took a long day tour in a small boat out to Northwestern Fjord in the
Kenai Fjords National Park.

This is a mom humpback whale and her calf. We saw
11 humpbacks during our cruise. We also saw (but failed to photograph) lots
of wily Dall's porpoise.
(The tiny clownish looking thing in the right foreground is a puffin. They
are ungainly in the air but awesome below the water)

Northwestern glacier.

There are a lot of very shy harbor seals hanging out on icebergs near the
glacier. We couldn't get any better photo than this one.

Here's an "arty" (note the reflection) shot of two other glaciers in Northwestern
Fjord.
