Ph.D./M.Sc. student positions in Zooplankton Ecology
Several student positions are available at the University of Oklahoma, through the Biological Station and Department of Zoology’s Program in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, for studies in zooplankton ecology, particularly in relation to the effects of invasive toxic golden algae (Prymnesium parvum ) on zooplankton life histories, demography, and community composition. Student research projects will be integrated into ongoing ecological and toxicological research focused on P. parvum in Lake Texoma, a large impoundment of the Red and Washita Rivers on the Texas-Oklahoma border. The project is currently funded through the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation through 2012.

The successful applicant should have an B.S. or M.S. degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, or other relevant field. Applicants with previous experience in limnology, zooplankton or phytoplankton ecology, or other related fields are particularly encouraged to apply.

For further information about the position and University of Oklahoma Biological Station please contact Dave Hambright.  Applications should include a brief description of research interests and past research experience, curriculum vitae, GRE scores, TOEFL scores (if appropriate), transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. Applications should also be submitted (separately) to the University of Oklahoma Graduate School and the Department of Zoology.
