  • Basic Writing (Engl 0150): not-for-credit course for academically at-risk students
  • Freshman Composition I: first-semester expository and argumentative writing course
  • Freshman Composition II: second-semester argumentative writing and research course
  • Introduction to the Short Story and Novel (Engl 2238): sophomore level course for non-majors
  • Topics in Advanced Composition (Engl 3970): upper-division writing-intensive course for English Majors, with a focus on analyses of popular culture
  • Principles of Professional and Report Writing (Engl 3301): computer-mediated course for junior and senior level Criminal Justice and Computer Science majors
  • Technical Writing (Engl 3153): course designed for junior and senior level Chemistry, Engineering, and Meteorology students, with an emphasis on scientific communication, rhetorical considerations, and visuality of documents

  • Campus Culture (Hon 2970): writing intensive course devoted to helping students become familiar with cultural events offered by the university
  • Community Citizen (Hon 2970): course emphasizing volunteer work in organizations located within the Norman, OK area
  • Writing Workshop (Hon 3970): upper division undergraduate course for incoming Writing Assistants, with emphasis on Composition/Rhetorical theory and strategies for strong tutoring practices
  • Honors Research (Hon 3980): one-on-one course devoted to student’s Senior Honors Thesis

-Graduate Courses-

  • Methods of Tutoring and Teaching Writing (Engl 515): graduate course for new tutors and teachers of writing, with an emphasis on current composition theory and pedagogy
  • Orality and Literacy (Engl 661): graduate course exploring the history of literacy and the relationships between the spoken and written word
  • Teaching College Composition (Engl 5115): graduate seminar for new Graduate Teaching Assistants.  Co-taught with the Director of First-Year Composition
  • Modern Composition, Theory and Practice (Engl 4151): advanced writing course for seniors and graduate students which focuses on the relationship between ancient rhetoric and modern composition
  • Composition Studies, Theory and Practice (Engl 6281): graduate level course for incoming Writing Center tutors and new teachers of writing, with an emphasis on composition theory and pedagogy
