What species occur in Oklahoma, where are they, and how many individuals are there? Having answers to these questions is central to our ability to understand, conserve, and manage the states' biodiversity. Collecting the data needed to answer these questions exceeds the capabilities and mission of any single organization. Nonetheless, there are many biologists working throughout the state who have information that would contribute to this basic cause. The Oklahoma Natural Heritage Inventory's role in answering these questions is to collect, curate and disseminate data that provide as complete a picture as possible of the current status of biodiversity in Oklahoma.
