sF Myrmicinae Adelomyrmex

Adelomyrmex are small uncommon ants of the litter. The majority of species on Jack Longino's Adelomyrmex pages (from which these photos and text derive) are montane and isolated to Costa Rica and northward. I have only collected myops at BCNM, but the range records for tristani suggest they may be there as well, albeit rare.

myops Wheeler 1910
Litter--
Reticulate rugose sculpture on face and mesosoma; eye composed of about 7 facets; propodeal suture step-like, with a distinct drop from promesonotum to dorsal face of propodeum; WL=0.61mm (n=1).
tristani Menozzi 1931
Litter--
Face and dorsum of mesosoma completely striate; hypostomal tooth absent; postpetiole broadly rounded posteriorly, not projecting over gaster; eye composed of about 8 facets; Weber's length 0.69mm (n=1).
