Here are the topics for your third
composition for SPAN 4163:
-
«Doña Perfecta: ¿opresora o heroína?».
-
«Pepe Rey: ¿héroe o rebelde?».
This time try to make a case (as a lawyer might) for each of the
categories.
In other words, be like a defender (a defense lawyer [defensor])
first, and then like a prosecutor (fiscal). Then, after
weighing
the evidence for one or the other category, take a firm stand for only
one of the categories suggested (the one that you would find more
convincing).
It makes no difference to me what category you choose. What
matters
is that you make an honest good case for one category (oppressor or
rebel)
and then for the other (hero, heroine) before you take a stand.
The
final stand you take will be based on what side you yourself find more
persuasive. In other words, you will be engaging in highly
critical
thinking at the level of writing. Phrases to use would be: "On
the
one hand . . ." («Por un lado, . . . ») and "On the other
hand
. . . " («Por otro lado . . .»). You will need to
quote
from the text to give strength to your testimony. The film
version
we are watching might change whatever point of view you might have at
this
point. That too, besides the text itself, might be a good
"testimony."
In fact, in the Works Cited section of your paper (Obras citadas), you
might want to list the film as a source. All the information
about
this film should be found in The Internet Movie Database (IMDb): <http://www.imdb.com/>.
Here is the direct link to the movie we are watching: <http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0042413/>.
Quote from the text(s) used and have a Works Cited
(Obras citadas) section
.

Instructions again <http://faculty-staff.ou.edu/L/A-Robert.R.Lauer-1/SPAN4153GenInst.html>,

Here are the topics for your fourth
composition for SPAN 4163
(choose only one of the possible options):
-
fe;
Rosarito».
-
«Fernando Ossorio (de Camino de perfección de
Pío
Baroja): ¿Pesimista, optimista o realista?»
