I am excited to build a strong, interactive lab group of evolutionary ecologists. Research in my lab usually involves both field and lab components, but sometimes centers on conceptual and computational topics. Although research in the lab spans a broad range of research topics, my lab best serves students interested in projects centered on questions involving the evolutionary ecology of fish and lizards, and conceptual/statistical questions concerning understanding patterns of phenotypic variation and the predictability of phenotypic evolution (see major topics in the General Information for Prospective Graduate Students). For field work, my lab is currently best situated for work in local environments (e.g., North Carolina), the Caribbean (particularly the Bahamas), and Mexico; although fieldwork in other locales frequently occur as well. Contact me (langerhans-at-ncsu.edu) with any inquiries.
