I am currently on the tenure track at the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa.
My previous position was electronic marketing manager at Cornell University Press. Prior to joining Cornell University Press, I was an adjunct instructor in research methods at University College at Syracuse. I have also been a research project assistant, an indexer/abstracter, a corporate librarian, an editorial researcher, and a marketing research manager for various organizations, including MIT's Center for Advanced Engineering Study, Oryx Press, the USDA Current Research Information System, Bank Rate Monitor, the National Enquirer, Globe Communications, and Waters Information Services.
I received my Ph.D. in Information Transfer from the Syracuse University School of Information Studies.
My dissertation, "Theories at Work: Functional Characteristics of Theories that Facilitate Their Diffusion Over Time," was named as a winner of the 2005 Eugene Garfield/ALISE doctoral dissertation award and as a runner-up for the 2004 ASIS&T/ProQuest doctoral dissertation award.
Not at all coincidentally, my personal and professional philosophy is, "It is never too late to become what you were meant to be!"
