
Her dissertation, "Theories at Work: Functional Characteristics of Theories that Facilitate Their Diffusion Over Time," was named as a winner of the 2005 Eugene Garfield/ALISE doctoral dissertation award and as a runner-up for the 2004 ASIS&T/ProQuest doctoral dissertation award.
She also holds an undergraduate degree in history, and graduate degrees in library science and in business administration.
Her previous position was electronic marketing manager at Cornell University Press. Prior to joining Cornell University Press, she was an adjunct instructor in research methods at University College at Syracuse. She has also been an indexer/abstracter, a corporate librarian, an editorial researcher, and a marketing research manager for various organizations, including Oryx Press, the USDA Current Research Information System, Bank Rate Monitor, the National Enquirer, and Waters Information Services.
