grussell@ou.eduProfessor Greg Russell joined the department in 1991. He is currently serving his second term as chair, a position he assumed in 2001.
He is the author of Hans J. Morgenthau and the Ethics of American Statecraft, Reconciling Internal Rights and External Wrongs: The Force of Arms and Ideas in War, and John Quincy Adams and the Public Virtues of Diplomacy.
His articles have appeared in The Review of Politics, The Journal of Politics, Interpretation, The Political Science Reviewer, Diplomacy and Statecraft, Ethics and International Affairs, Global Perspectives, The International Review of History and Political Science, Society, Presidential Studies Quarterly, Virginia Quarterly Review, Modern Age, Review of International Studies, Geopolitics, and The New England Quarterly.
Research interests include American diplomatic history, American political biographies, studies in statesmanship, Churchill studies, and intellectual traditions in international thought.
