Dr. Kathleen Rager received the Junior Faculty
Award.
Dr. Rager is an
assistant professor in the

of
Educational
Leadership and Policy Studies. She holds
a doctoral degree from Kansas State University
in Philosophy in Adult and Continuing Education.
She
joined the faculty of the College of Education
Fall 2001. Dr. Rager is a past recipient of the
Junior Faculty Research Program Award and
in 2004 was awarded by her colleagues in the Department
of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
that

Dr. Rager's current research is centered on self-directed
learning. Her study of the independent learning

In nominating Dr. Rager for this award, one colleague
succinctly noted that she was "the definition of
the emergent scholar" and that her research "is
making an impact nationally."
