Dar Williams is a
talented young songwriter from Northampton, MA. Her album The
Honesty Room deals with such issues as developing gender roles
during childhood ("When I Was a Boy"), living in a nuclear world ("The
Great Unknown"), and her childhood babysitter ("The Babysitter's
Here").
The Nields are fronted
by two sisters, Nerissa and Katryna Nields, and Nerissa's husband
David. Their music bridges the boundary between acoustic and
alternative music. Don't miss their live show! Their album Gotta
Get Over Greta will be rereleased by EMI/Guardian early on 6 May
1997.
From Good
Homes released Open
Up the Sky, a fun album of upbeat songs featuring mandolin,
electric guitar, saxophone, and violin. In this world, there
is not much that is better than seeing them perform live in an
intimate club!
