The Oklahoma Music Theory Round Table is the oldest
existing professional society for music theorists.
The group, whose membership consists of teachers and
students of music theory at the college level from
throughout Oklahoma, meets yearly at one of the colleges
or universities in the state, usually in late September
or early October.
Last year Cameron University hosted the Oklahoma Music Theory Round Table in Lawton on Friday, October 13, 2006. Prof. Nico Schueler of Texas State University made presentations and led discussion on entrance exams and web-based teaching.
On October 12, 2007, Oral Roberts University will host the meeting with special guest Sam Adler.
