The Oklahoma Music Theory Round Table is the oldest
existing professional society for music theorists.
The group, whose membership consists of teachers and
students of music theory at the college level from
throughout Oklahoma, meets yearly at one of the colleges
or universities in the state, usually in late September
or early October.
Last year the University of Oklahoma hosted the Oklahoma Music Theory Round Table in Norman. The group enjoyed keynote presentations on film music by Prof. James Buhler of the University of Texas and other presentations by members.
On October 2, 2009, East Central University will host the meeting in their brand-new Fine Arts Center. For more information about this meeting, contact Prof. Skye Garcia.
