The OU Christian Faculty and Staff had a site on OU's server, but we
were told OU might be in violation of the First Amendment by having
us on. It is hard for me to see how the free speech clause and the
free exercise clause of the First Amendment, which suggest that
the site should have stayed, should be set aside in favor of the ideal
of "separation of church and state," an idea not found in the First
Amendment. The clause affecting church and state says that Congress
shall make no law regarding the establishment of religion. OU was
hardly in danger of establishing Christianity as the official religion
of Oklahoma by allowing our site. We were eventually told that our
argument was correct but that we would be removed anyway because of
bandwidth problems.
