Introduction. My name is David Tan. I am currently Associate Professor of Adult and Higher Education (tenured) at the University of Oklahoma. I was Program Area Coordinator of the Adult and Higher Education program (EDAH) from 1997 to 2004. Our EDAH program offers the Master of Education (M.Ed.) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees. The field of Adult and Higher Education has many exciting specialties, which include adult and continuing education, training and development, continuing professional education, distributive learning, student personnel administration, intercollegiate athletics administration, community college administration, institutional research, and higher education administration. Specialization. My area of focus is higher education administration, particularly in the areas of strategic planning, institutional research, leadership, organizational behavior, finance, college students, and research methodology. Administrative Service. I am also the Director of the statewide consortium-based Center for Student Affairs Research (CSAR) dedicated to the research and practice of student affairs.
