    In addition to teaching on our main campus in Norman, Oklahoma, I have frequently taught classes in extension programs in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal (including the Azores), Iceland, South Korea, and Japan (including Okinawa).

  • Issues related to college students (STEM majors, co-curricular participation, diversity, alcohol abuse, satisfaction, persistence, credit card use, student orientation, developmental math education), intercollegiate athletics, finance, planning, institutional research, diversity training, and quality assessment in higher education.
CURRENT POSITIONS
  • Department Chair, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS), College of Education. One of three departments in the college, ELPS has 27 full-time faculty members located on the Main Campus in Norman and at the OU Tulsa-Schustermann Center. ELPS has three distinct programs: Adult and Higher Education; Educational Administration, Curriculum, and Supervision; and Educational Studies.

  • PEAQ Evaluator-Consultant (2010-present), North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. NCA is the largest regional accrediting agency in the US. It accredits institutions in the states of Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming. The Program to Evaluate and Advance Quality (PEAQ) is the traditional way most colleges and universities seek and retain regional accreditation.

  • AQIP Peer Reviewer Corps (2010-present), North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) was developed by NCA in 1999 to provide colleges and universities (currently at 10%) with an alternative process for continuing accreditation.

  • Executive Director (1999-present), Center for Student Affairs Research (CSAR), a state consortium devoted to the research and practice of student affairs.
