The final exam (which is open-notes and open-book) will consist of a single essay in which you suggest a theory of the dynamics of human interaction across religious lines, and reflect on how various elements of the course contributed to your development of that theory.

The exams will be graded on whether they fulfill the assignment, on the quality and clarity of your writing, on the sophistication and cogency of the theory you propose, and on how well it makes use of and interacts with the readings and discussions that have made up this course.
