This site has been created for University of Oklahoma students enrolled in David Vishanoff's course RELS 1113 - Introduction to Religious Studies:  Christianity and Islam.  It contains the syllabus, assignments, and a record of our class discussions.  Nothing in the site should be interpreted without due consideration of its purpose and context within the pedagogical framework of the class.  The site will be modified and developed as the course proceeds, so please do not rely on material or assignments for specific classes whose dates appear in italics in the schedule.  Please note that some images and other parts of the site (linked in grey) are not accessible on the internet, but are intended only for the instructor's use in class.

     This site contains almost all of the "information" you will need to "know" for this class.  It maps out this information in three ways: class outlines, a timeline, and alphabetical lists of names and terms.  Becoming thoroughly familiar with this site, by using all three "maps" and following the internal links every time you are unsure of a name or term, will give you the information you need to interpret the materials we will encounter during the term.
