Sample of comments:
The instructor:
"I've never had a professor spend so much time on individual feedback."
"I have never had a teacher as kind and caring as Dr. Vishanoff. He
always went out of his way to help us learn and he saw us as people
- and I greatly appreciated it!"
"He loves discussion and loves to make sure that students know
the material and can think for themselves."
"Fair, objective, concern for student learning."
"Vishanoff is very concerned about each individual student
and their progress in his course and in the future. He is one
of the most intelligent men I have ever met."
The course:
"Very helpful in learning various Muslim views but fails
somewhat to connect the theology with the Middle East and modern
Muslim world."
"The course was entirely discussion which was great! Sometimes
we got off topic."
The discussion format was generally appreciated, but one student
noted insufficient opportunity for questions and discussion. [Since the class consisted entirely of discussion, I interpret
this as an indication that some found it difficult to enter into the
discussions
- an important point that needs attention.]
