Abraham's first son (by Hagar), and the forefather of the Northern Arabs (and thus the ancestor of the Prophet Muhammad.) Muslims regard him as a prophet who settled in Mecca after he was expelled from Abraham's household, and there rebuilt the Ka`ba.
