Abraham's nephew, who travelled with Abraham for a time, then separated from him and settled in Sodom (see Genesis 11:31-12:5, 13:5-13). Later God rained down fire and sulfur on Sodom, but not until Lot had left. Lot's wife, however, looked back, and became a pillar of salt (see Genesis 18:16-19:29). Lot is mentioned several times in the Qur'an (e.g. Q 37:133-138).
