Welcome everyone to my personal home page! I earned my doctorate from the University of Georgia in 2005 in Speech Communication. Prior to that, I attended and earned both my bachelor's degree (1997) and master's degree (2000) in Speech at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

My research interests are primarily in the areas of health communication and social influence. I also have an interest in interpersonal communication. In particular, I am interested in understanding the use of emotional appeals in health messages, and how the use of these appeals affect the way people process health messages and their effects on health behaviors. Additionally, I am interested in message design issues related to the framing of health risk (e.g., smoking, alcohol, obesity, HPV, avian flu) and health promotion (e.g., cancer screenings, sunscreen use, nutrition) information disseminated to the general public.

The purpose of this page is to provide individuals with the opportunity to gain access to my curriculum vitae, various papers that I have presented at national and international conferences, and courses that I am currently teaching at the University of Oklahoma.

Have a nice day and thank you for visiting this site. Updates will be periodically provided.
