James Luck, Ph.D. Student
James began his engineering career with as a robotics engineer
for General Motors and Ciba-Geigy in Detroit,
MI. Seeing the opportunities in personal computing
and information networking, James moved to Washington, DC
where he became a senior networking consultant for Sears Business Systems,
eventually becoming hardware design lead for Zenith Data System's Desktop III
RFP, a $4 Billion bid to the DoD for desktop PC's and networking
hardware. After completing his MBA.
James continued his career at C-COR Electronics, where he served as a product
manager and design engineer for broadband RF LAN products. He then moved to MCI in Washington,
DC and Colorado
Springs, CO where
he became a WAN design consultant for both MCI internal networks and for
large Fortune 100 customers. Seeing
the opportunities in remote network management, James then moved to Austin, TX
where he spent the next 7 years in various design and management positions,
helping NetSolve build a network management business from a $5 million to a
$50 million yearly business. James

Shankar Suman, M.S. Student
Shankar Suman joined the
School of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering,
at the University of Oklahoma as a master’s student
in fall 2003. He received his baccalaureate in Manufacturing Engineering from
Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering &
Technology, India
in 2003. His research interest is in the field of Control Systems, Robotics,
and Guidance & Navigation. For the Micro Vehicle
System Lab he is currently working over the development of the sensor
suite for the attitude control of a Micro Satellite. Also with the department
he is involved in the development of the mechanical system of CubeSat, a
microsatellite project, sponsored by the Oklahoma NASA Space Grant Consortium.
His previous research work includes development of the prototype simulator of
Michelle-B, a reusable launch vehicle by TGV Rockets. As an undergrad he
developed the control strategies and analyzed their stability for force
control during dynamic interaction of a tool with a work piece.
