Evaluation Criteria for SIM APC Request for Proposals
Research projects designed for SIM APC grants must be designed to
be completed within, at most, an 18-month time frame
and must be organized
as a series of phases, such that value-added deliverables are periodically
provided to the APC members.
Each project is to produce an Executive Summary,
which highlights the project's findings and explains their value to APC
members, and a
Project Report, which more comprehensively details the project's research
methodology and findings.
The criteria used in selecting finalists include:
- the value of the proposed deliverables to the APC members (50%)
- the appropriateness and quality of the research design and the
appropriateness of the
budget given this research design (20%)
- the likelihood that the research team will be successful (30%)
Proposals are limited to a maximum of twenty pages of both text and all supporting
documents (including vitas).
The following material must be included within the proposal:
- an executive summary
- a statement of and motivation for the study's research questions
- an overview of relevant literatures
- an overview of the research methodology
- an explanation of the nature of and value of the study's deliverables to APC members
- details of the study's budget and time-frame, and
- the qualifications of the research team (the research teams' prior experiences
and success
in undertaking intensive, field-base research and in interacting
with senior executives
must be documented).
A maximal overhead rate of 10% will be allowed.
